Located in the heart of Berlin, in a setting that effortlessly balances urban energy with a sense of retreat, this exceptional loft is an architectural statement that reinterprets the classic New York loft concept for contemporary living. Originally part of a 1930s office building, the space was transformed in 2024 by the internationally renowned architecture studio FAR frohn&rojas into a two level residence of approximately 211 square meters. The result is a space that preserves its industrial heritage while introducing a sculptural, almost gallery like quality of living.
The loft consciously references the spirit of SoHo, with open layouts, generous ceiling heights, and fluid transitions between living, working, and creative spaces. This is seamlessly combined with the clarity and experimental attitude of Berlin’s architectural culture. A central design feature is a precisely integrated two level structure that defines different functional areas while maintaining the openness of the space. This creates a refined balance between expansiveness and intimacy. The material palette of exposed concrete, steel, and a restrained color scheme emphasizes architectural clarity. Three monumental light installations further define the space, adding depth and a strong visual identity. Large windows frame views of greenery and, in parts, extend toward the Fernsehturm, offering a rare combination of central location and tranquility.
The Dome Loft is designed for individuals with a strong appreciation for architecture and design. A place not just to live, but to experience. A true loft in the most authentic sense of the word.
